Department of Political Science

Welcome to Political Science Department

The Department of Political Science was established in 1963 as a subsidiary of Department of Economics under the stewardship of Prof Lalitha A. Now the department offers complementary papers for the Department of History as well.

The department focuses on nurturing academic excellence of students and enhancing their analytical thinking.

It has been active in organising seminars and workshops from time to time. It maintains good academic relation with IPAK(Institute of Parliamentary Affairs Kerala) and CES (Centre for Electoral Studies).

Dr.P.Sasidharan,former research guide of University of Kannur and author of the book ‘Radical Politics in Kannur’ was the faculty of our department.
