"Mind Matters: Mental Health as a Fundamental Right" a seminar Organized by P. G. Department of Economics, Sree Narayana College, Kannur and Hosted by Planning Forum & Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) on November 1st 2023 at 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Seminar Hall, Sree Narayana College, Kannur.

The P. G. Department of Economics, in collaboration with the Planning Forum and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), presented a thought-provoking event on the importance of mental health as a fundamental right. Titled "Mind Matters," this event aimed to raise awareness about the significance of mental well-being and featured an expert in the field.Guest Speaker:Vidya N, a Consultant Psychologist from the Jeevani Center for Students Wellbeing at S.N. College, Kannur, served as the guest speaker for the event. Her expertise in the field of psychology added significant value to the discussion.The event began with an opening address, emphasizing the critical role that mental health plays in our daily lives and its importance as a fundamental human right. Vidya N's presentation covered various aspects of mental health, including its impact on individuals, communities, and society as a whole. She shed light on the stigma associated with mental health issues and the need for open conversations.Vidya N provided insights into the available resources for addressing mental health challenges, including counseling services and support systems. She stressed the importance of seeking help when needed and breaking down the barriers that often prevent individuals from accessing mental health care.The event concluded with a Q&A session where attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and engage in a meaningful discussion about mental health.
